2005 F150, 30,000 miles....any need to replace brake fluid?

 

Yes if it's not been done before. Brake fluid absorbs water and needs to be replaced.

 

Replace brake fluid at 30,000 miles??

The brake fluid has been in there since 2005, absolutely it needs to be changed. I don't care how many miles are on the fluid. Just like oil, if you only had 3000 on oil from 2005, you wouldn't wait till 5000 miles.

Just be careful with the bleeder screws. I just broke one of mine off last weekend trying to do a brake fluid flush. They were a little rusty.

 

use a 6 point socket to break it loose.

 

Had the local Ford dealer change my brake fluid today in hopes of eliminating that squeaky brake pedal. So far it seems to have done the trick. Pads, rotors and stopping power were all good, I just had that annoying squeaky pedal sound.
