Default V6 to V8 Engine Swap

Hello all. Not sure if this topic has been covered. I've looked and looked but have not come up with anything. I have a 2008 regular cab with a 4.2L and a 5 speed with only 44453 actual miles. Has anyone ever done a V6 to either a 4.6 or 5.4 engine swap? If so, links please. Thanks.

With such low miles it would be a shame to do such a thing. Unless it has suffered some untimely catastrophic failure.

I've got the 4.2 and I'm running 35's, just changed to 4.56s from 3.55s. Why do you want to change to a V8?

Default Electric Fans

I'm also thinking about replacing the manual fan to a single or double electric setup. Any ideas?

Well it would definitely be a good project for sure. You pretty serious about doing it?

Well I would have to find a donor vehicle. Might be hard though. Not sure if Ford built a V8 with a manual transmission.

I know Ford made a 4.6l v8 in the previous generation truck. If you were going through with a swap like that a donor truck would be nice, and a good junkyard close too. I imagine finding the computer needed would be difficult.

I'd love to make my 2007 4.2 into a 4wd. Nobody ever likes to hear that though.

You most likely haven't turned anything up because the cost and labor involved in undertaking that task would be more then the cost to sell the current truck, and buy up to a bigger package; and the value would still be less.
