Use for the "do nothing" space in dash

I figured out a way to make use of the hole in our XLT dash's. I fabbed up a storage tray to fit into the space. Once it was made I added some of the console carpet to help in the rattle department, then added a piece of black trim on the face to give it a bit of a factory look. Since I was going that far and the fact I did not want to leave my I-pod exposed to the sun and sticky fingers, I relocated the input port to the new "not so do nothing" space. Here's some pics to give you a better idea on what I did. Being the I-pod is out of reach, I purchased a wireless remote for it (next to 4X4 switch) so no more fumbling while driving. Only thing left is running power to it so I don't have to rely on the batteries. Also what is nice, is no more unsightly wires hanging out everywhere.

Thanks for the replies. My first F-150 was an FX4 and it had the drink holders too, along with the console AND don't forget the doors. I guess Ford don't want their drivers to go anywhere thirsty. I was going to go the junk yard route and find the FX4 lower insert, but then I'd have to get the rest of the matching carbon fiber looking trim. I do like the carbon look, but it would be very pricey. I've got other priorities right now to spend my money on.

Kinda strange place for them, when they are out, they are only about 6 inches away from the ones in the console.
