upper intake leaking/warping, which UI?
I just ran a p0305 cylinder 5 misfire and when I took out the coil, there was coolant in the well.
My research (mostly here) shows that coolant leaking from the upper intake gasket / plenum is common. Also, that the plastic plenums warp after time, causing leaks.
I searched through the 2005 f150 TSBs and found nothing on the plenum or upper intake leaking, but apparently it's common. Enough to be a permanent post here too I would think.
After researching the problem here and elsewhere , I still am wondering, when buying a new plenum, which one to buy?
Ford109 descriebed the problem exactly and said a few days ago it cost him $185 for upper intake and gasket, but hasn't been back on to answer where he got the UI.
