Question Upgrade Basic XLT

New to Forum Posting....beware

2005 F-150 XLT 2WD, no power seats, no keyless entry, and no heated side mirrors

I am wondering if it is possible to do a plug and play with any or all of these features.....I would like to just order a set of stock mirrors or find some gently used that have the defrost capability and place them on my truck. I would also like to do the same with the keyless entry pad and the power seat. I am not sure how to go about seeing if the wiring harness that is on the truck now would allow for these capabilities to be simply added on or if the wiring harness would have to be messed with/changed for any or all of the capabilities to exist.

Do you have rear defrost? If you don't plug and play won't work. The power seat harness..might be there.

Power seats are a waste unless you're getting them for the leather. I don't think I've changed the settings on mine in 4-5 years. The cool factor wears off quickly.

Heated mirrors are nice as well as combination door locks, but you'd have to dig into the wiring.

I do not have rear defrost. What I'd like most is to have stock keyless entry and stock side mirrors with defrost capability.

Well, you're basically out of luck.

the mirror defrost without the rear window defrost is through a button on the HVAC in the center stack so you would need that as well as the wiring for it...I don't find that it works all that well to put in the time for it...good luck with your choice

For what its worth, I don't have rear window defrost, but I do have heated mirrors on my 2006 XLT.

Even the keypad will be tough as the software to activate is obsolete to most dealers nowadays.
