Default Updating Tools

I now have a 2004 F150 and a 2005 F150 so I need to update the tools in my box to work on these trucks. What wrenches and sockets would be used the most for these models? Any special tools needed ?

You are gunna want metric sockets from 5mm all the way up to 30mm. The lower strut takes a 29 or 30 and the door speaker screws take a 5.5mm socket. 3 bolts in the door panels use a 10mm and so do the headlights. The upper ball joint and tie rod use a 21mm, lower balljoint is 24mm, and brake calipers a 18mm. The struts and sway bar use 15mm ones....so if you want to change out any worn out parts on your front end, you will need metric sockets. Ask me how I know/remember those sizes. haha.

The only other "special" tool would be if you were trying to change out your spark plugs and that would be the Lisle tool. Otherwise there isnt much that is out of the ordinary that a normal tool guy wouldnt/shouldnt have.

Yup, exactly what he said^. I got a whole socket set with like 30 something metric sizes and some others. Plus random extensions for it too. I also got a ratchet screw driver that came with like 40 different tips so I can do nearly anything from taking apart my xbox to destroying my truck. And both of the sets fit in the slot on the back door panel easily.

If you don't have air tools such as impact wrenches, air ratchets and such then you better get started brother. Also, a ball joint press if you're planning on doing your lower ball joints and an inner tie rod tool if you want to do your inner tie rods youself. As far as sockets and such go, you should already have that in your arsenal.
