Default Unknown device under steering wheel

Hi all,

I just picked up my 2006 F150 XLT, it needs a bit of work but I love it!

Stumbled upon this device that is mounted directly under steering wheel, not sure what it it.

Looking at these pics, would someone please post here if you know what this thing is.


this is slider, acts like a button I suppose

That know on the side is a GAIN

Manual oil pump, if needed squeeze it repeatedly until you get home to keep the oil flowing

First of all you need to stop sliding that slider asap! Why squeeze and slide something you don't know what use if for.
You're messing up the computer of the truck and its going to start misfiring or stalling all the time.

If I wanted to pretend to be serious though, the truck was a tow vehicle for a trailer heavy enough to require a brake controller as has been identified above.

I'm scared that the owner needs a trailer brake module for a trailer yet doesn't know what it is. Uh Oh.
Compounded by a 15 year old truck that 'needs work'.
