Default Under drive pulleys installed!

posted this on f150online but thought you guys would like to hear this too.

ive had my pulleys in the garage for about 2 months now and finally decided to put them on. i got them off ebay for about $100. the main reason for not putting them on was fear of charging issues and it being harder to steer. well lately my truck has been dropping to about 400rpms when i put it in park after a drive and i noticed that when it does this, the volt gauge doesnt move which means the alt is still making pleny of power at those low rpms (still havent fixed my dropping rpm issue yet). so i decided that with the day off work id put the pulleys on. i started out at about 9am with a trip to the store for a fan clutch kit to get that damn fan on. well long story short, after going to 2 parts stores, a fast food place, visiting my neighbor, going to the ups store and returning the fan clutch kit, i finished the install at 2pm.

install was quite easy, only 2 specialty tools needed, fan clutch wrench kit, and a balancer puller. went for a drive and was pleasantly surprised. it didnt turn my truck into a race car by any means but it sure made throttle response much better. i cant say how much hp it added up top because i spend all morning driving around in my buddies f250 turbo deisel so all the mods in the world and my truck would still fill slow after that. it pulls strong and idles very well. i had to put the stock fan back on due to lack of funds but im sure ill feel more of a power gain when that thing is gone.

all in all, if i had to do it all over again, i would most defenitely do it, it was worth the money. and for the record, my volt meter still reads the exact same thing now that it did before the pulley swap and the steering has not changed one bit.

the part number on asp's website is ASP527374. it says its for 02-03 but when i called asp they said it would work just fine on my 07 and they were right. no modification needed, simple bolt on. i have the 4.6l motor just for the record.

well here is the best pic i could get after the install was done and the shroud was back on. i wish i would have thought to take pics but after putting the pulleys on and the belt and then firing it up to make sure everything was ok the truck ran fine so i quickly put all the parts back on so i could test drive it.
