Default Rear End Vibration

When I turn corners it feels like there's a vibration or stutter comin from the back wheels. I was told it could be the bearings goin bad but I thought I would ask ya'll too & see if you had any opinions. It is still under warranty & I plan on havin it checked out completely at a Ford dealer real soon so I can get anything replaced that needs to be replaced.

*On a side note...I really tried to figure out how to phrase the title the best I could, but there was no way that didn't sound bad. lol giggity!*

I was imagining some butt shakin...

Does the vibration happen all the time? Or only when you are starting off or turning corners, etc. I am not sure what would cause this problem, but I am helping you to better define your problem for when the pros see your post!

Duh, my bad! It always happens when I'm stopped at a red light or stop sign & then start to turn the corner.

It sounds like, perhaps, the rear-end is not allowing the outside wheel, in the turn, to spin faster than the inside wheel. Limited slip, or posi rear axles drive both rear wheels at the same time. But, they should allow either wheel to spin faster than the other in certain situations, like in the snow and 1 wheel hits a slick spot or when making a turn.

I am not a mechanic and I know just enough to get myself into trouble , so someone else with more experience than I may have a better answer.

take it to your ford dealer and have the rear end serviced with the synthetic additive. that should make it go away!

Yea, it definatly sounds like the limited slip sticking a little too much.

my truck has been doing that too lately, on take off and on a turn. Between 5 and 20mph it will shutter fairly harshly. I called the dealer i bought it from and they did the rearend in it back in Feb 07. Possibly the same thing?

Have the rear diff serviced. Make sure it dosent have any gears cracked or coming apart, then install a good synthetic gear oil with Hypoid limited slip addative.

make sure you take it to a dealer that has a tech that knows something about rears, my truck sat for 3 months at a dealer because they couldn't get my rear right.

Just to put that dealer on blast it's Wayman Ford of Maplewood, NJ
