Default Tunes

I've searched and can't find anything really about this. I'm looking at an AEM CAI and was looking at tuners. I know for my mustang I had to have a tune for each mod to the engine...do I have to have a tune for each mod on the F150 also? I've been looking for a tuner/CAI package and can't find any...

I too have a Stang with mods and a Diablosport tuner.I asked the techs a diablosport about the F150 and canned tunes.I was told that the air and fuel system on the f150 is not as touchy as the stangs and will compensate more for a CAI. My truck has an Airaid CAI & Flowmaster true duals and no cel has ever came on and runs great.I will in the future get a tuner and a dyno tune on it to maximize everything...

What do ya'll think if headers, cat-back, and CAI were added? I'd probably get a tune then after the install of the headers, but how necessary are they or is there a place that gives canned tunes?

From what I know and have learned through the years is once you get all of the mods done get a dyno tune done. The only two companies I know of are SCT & Diablosport that most tuners can use and write a tune and save into the handheld tuner. Some dyno shops can actually do the tune and load it directly to your ECM without a handheld but you can't change or remove it.Canned tunes are great but and a company like Bamachips probably has one but a dyno tune is the best and safest and will get the most out of your vehicle...

No, they aren't required for the F-150. It will maximize your gains with mods but the CPU isn't nearly like the Spanish Oak system in the S197's.
