Hey all,

New to the forum here. I recently bought an 06 f150 XLT super crew 4x4 4.6 v8. And while I love this truck the gas is hurting a bit. But I was wondering should I get a tuner like the edge evo or the bully dog? Are they worth it?

Gryphon from php. Or if you get the edge evo, you can download the gryphon tune on it. Just type gryphon in the search, theres numerous threads about it and a great writeup on how to do it for free from the php website. I have it and its well worth it, the gryphon 87 tune bumped my mpg dramatically. It makes tge truck much more efficient.

With so many different options out there what should I look for? What brand and what not? I do like the edge evos and the fact that you can get a shell that fits into your dash. But that's just a plus, nothing major. I'm just not sure which one to get.

 

Get the edge evo and convert to gryphon.. I had the superchips 1815 and i never looked back. Felt sorry for the sucker on ebay

I would just get a php I wouldnt buy a edge just to convert it. Go to power hungry performance it's worth it wen it comes to more power if ur looking for gas mileage I'd go with one of there #2 custom tunes.

 

I got my edge from a fellow member here and converted to the gryphon the same night it was delivered. Running it on Level 2 Tow with some custom settings and love it, it changed the feel of the truck so much.

 

you can get a edge for like 150 if you look hard enough. PHP wants 400 for their spray painted black evolution makeover when it takes 5 minutes to convert it to their software with their program. No way i'd pay that

I have the Edge Evolution as well and it is converted to a Gryphon. I paid $125 for mine and made my own mount because I hated the dash pod.
