Default True Dual Exhaust setup

After months of reading and listening to youtube vids, I've decided this is what I want. I'm still not fully sure about the crossover pipe, but from what I gather, an H pipe is better for low end torque and a deep aggressive sound. If anyone wants to chime in and advice me about something, feel free to do so. I'm leaving the cats alone. Mandrel bent or not, still not sure either

-Remove Y pipe and run dual 2.5" pipe(Stainless or Alum. not sure about)
-Install H pipe
-2 11" Magnaflow mufflers part # 11366 I believe
-2 stainless 4x18" slash cut non rolled stainless tips out the back behind rear tires

Sound good to everyone?

Aspen, that setup sounds good to me although I question your choice to leave the cats alone? The most power anyone will EVER gain from an exhaust system is through the cats, especially on todays motors. Magnaflow makes high flow cats that supposedly won't throw codes and allow oxygen sensors just as your stockers do. What year is your truck?

Someday I'll change the cats, just one of the many things I plan on doing with my truck, for now there fine. My truck is an 06. -Mike-

Mandrel bent would be a plus. Are you going for performance and sound?

I'm willing to sacrifice alittle bit of power for sound. I don't tow anything only haul occasional stuff to the landfill and camping gear. How important is mandrel bent really? My friends swear by mandrel bent, others tell me it don't matter. Seems more of a personal preference thing. -Mike-

If you want sound over performance I recommend going with Flowmasters. I LOVE mine and the sound is awesome!! My 5.4 has enough power for me that I went with sound over power.

What kind of tone are you looking for? Mellow and deep or nice and aggresive? Mandrel tubing will get the most out of your exhaust, and since theirs not too much you can really get every bit matters. IMO it's worth looking around for adn spending a little extra.

Well if you want a deep aggresive pipe nothing is as throaty as a Borla but they are expensive. Thats what I am going to run next. The cats are a good investment too becuase they open it up alot. That H pipe will make it gargle on decel similar to a mustang which I really like also. Just search some sound clips on youtube searching all the major exhaust manufacturers and go with what you like.

I'm looking for deep and aggressive and a clean sound. I don't like alot of thrash to exhaust systems.

With all due respect, I've listened to alot of 5.4 F150s with Flowmasters(mostly 40 series) I don't like how they sound. I feel Magnaflow gives me the sound I'm looking for. Haven't heard many Borlas on F150s either, so can't say much. I did listen to one particular F150 on youtube with a bassani catback and it sounded very nice. Yes they are expensive. $550 is my limit for an exhaust system.

LovetheTide - you make good points, I think you taked me into mandrel bent!
