Default troyer E fan out

so there I am stuck in traffic in my 05 with an troyer e fan installed a few months ago. The AC is blowing hot as hell and the truck overheats.

well sure enough the E fans aren't working now for whatever reason.
they are hooked up per the troyer instructions.

No friggin clue what the problem could be. AC seems to be blowing hot as hell at an idle now too (later same night).

any ideas on what the problem could be?
the fan is hooked up so one turns anytime the AC is one. neither one works right now.

you could say i'm a bit pissed.

advice? suggestions?

Never like jumping the E fans off the A/C i dont always run mine i jumped mine off the blue/green wire like the cig push button start. Your relay on the the A/C could be bad, clutch or low freon. so the a/c compresser doesnt come on the fans have no power!! useing the blue/green wire it will have power all the time the key is on i used t-taps to do it works great!! hope you didnt get it to hot!!!

hmm not sure if that's the case. since both fans can also be activated when the thermostat hits certain temperatures

the one fan rigged to come on anytime the AC is on is just supposed to be an added bonus

either the fans are bad, the controller is bad, or there is a blown fuse/relay. im not sure about the troyer fans but in a lot of the kits they use a tap-a-fuse type of thing where you tap into an existing fuse location, both of those fuses have to be working

check fuses, relays, wiring and last your fans. are the fans running at all? if the fans are not comming on at all but your fans work if you put power directly to them the problem lies somewhere before the fans.

also if you have been running your A/C and your fans have not been running you are more than likely out of or low refriderant, there is a pressure releif valve that will release refidgerant because the pressure builds when hot. thus you may need a complete re-charge. been there, done that.

start there, if your fuses are good double check the wiring and relays, if all of that is good try putting power directly to the fans to see if they will run.

+1, if you find that your controller is bad, look into the DC controller. its what i use on my truck and works great. its not just an on/off deal. the fans turn on at about 160* very slowly and speed up to about 50% speed by 185*. its nice because it extends the life of the fans and there is no shock to the alternator when the fans come on

Times 2 for the DC Controller. You'll wait a few weeks for it (he's back logged), but it's the best controller bar none.

I went with this controller anf the Mark IV fan. Installed this fan into the existing fan fan shroud.

I put back on the stock fan. screw all this trouble. fuses for controllers are fine

A/C seems fine now, even at idle
