Default Tricky cruise control

Hello all. I have reviewed many forums to no avail so I'm posting a new thread to see if anyone can help me out. My cruise control will not turn on. All fuses are good, switches are good, all speed sensors read accurately. The speed control actuator was replaced twice. I recently bought the top Don bluetooth scanner, so I could verify everything was working, and it does as it should. The speed control actuator reads off, whether it is depressed or not. So my question is, is it another bad speed actuator? Or is this a bigger problem then I'm gonna care to deal with?

Edit: its a 2008 F150 Stx 4x4

im my experience it is usually.this part. Also, I’ve found these hard to reliable prove out with a basic multimeter test. Because of this, combined with low cost and ease of install, I’d start by replacing this:

have you checked the brake pedal position sensor? sometimes that can cause cruise control issues.

That was the cruise control actuator, I'm on my second one, however I can try one more. And yes I have checked my brake pedal switch, replaced and worked as it should

Is your third brake light working correctly ? corrosion can get into a cracked lens.

yes, the suggestion of 3BL is good and smart to rule that out first. But if not that, I find the interrupter switches to be common.

don’t think I saw how frequently you e been going through them, but at ~$10 each and a minute or two install it’s not that bad (big box stores are often LTWarrsnty).

My third brake light is good, I have an aftermarket led one in, and I know that you need proper resistance with it, and I do have proper resistance, it plugged straight into the harness and the cruise worked for two years with it prior to now. Other two brake lights are working as they should also, although I have thought about replacing them also just to be on the safe side. I will try a me actuator tomorrow. By chance do any of you have a scan tool, and can you tell me when then speed control actuator is pressed in, does it still show in the off setting. When I had mine connected I pulled the actuator, still plugged in, and pressed the plunger in and out and had no change.
