You have a PCM controlled fan if your truck has this connector right here:
This goes to the PCM controlled, engine driven fan. I has it. If yours does not, you are excused from this thread.

Any one know the cut off date for computer controlled fan clutch? Surprised to see this. Must have been the same year they switched to that weirdo oil filler cap.
Also, what year did F150s start taking 7 "guarts" of oil?

As to your unexpected engagement, considering the T-stat is a 192 I'm not surprised to see the fan in by 205. My first suspect would be the T-stat. I don't know the trans temp cut-in point, or even if it has one. My oldest son is Mr. tech info, I'll ask him.

Yeah, It ain't rocket appliances to figure that out. YOU'RE the one who told us our 11th gen's all have PCM controlled fans.

Except the engine had been running those temps all day long, engine temp wasn't the issue. It actually went down to about 194 when the fan was bellering, but:
A. it wasn't shutting off,
B. I was doing 60mph.
so: IT WASN'T THE ENGINE TEMPS THAT WERE TURNING ON THE FAN. Not the first time I've said this, or laid out that data. But, we'll keep on going around...
I'd appreciate it if your son, Mr Tech Info, did have some sort of spec on this. Thanks, for asking.

Eric, Jr. can't answer the question but I did a little digging and found a thread on F150online regarding the PCM controlled fans. It was stated that they are prone to fail engaged (better than disengaged). I know that's not a definitive answer or even a direct answer to the trans temp part of your question but figured it was worth sharing. Considering the cost, I understand throwing a new clutch at it isn't a first choice and I wish I could offer more help. I get your frustration.
So hows married life?

I could sense the impending butthurt. Mission accomplished.
Looks like your truck has been tampered with pretty good. Have fun.

So far, the fan is operating as it should; comes on at low speeds / air conditioning/ hot trans, runs a couple seconds at start-up until the viscous fluid is all distributed.
I KNOW I got the trans hot dragging that trailer through the stop lights in Des Moines, just curious how hot it got. We weren't doing that for very long, just had to get from chipotle to her aunt's house.
It came on for a bit on the freeway, there was a couple hills where it downshifted but didn't lock-up the torque converter clutch again. That's about the time the O/D Off button got mashed and stayed there. Could tell how much heat was getting into/out of the trans by listening to the pitch of the fan. Much fun when 300 miles from home. hehehehe.
