Default transmission stuff

so Ford has started to dissapoint me. my truck has 42,000 miles and the transmission just went to pieces last night. why, i have no clue. fluids were fine, i was pullin out of my driveway, loud pop, and then griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinding everywhere. its friggin rediculous. lucky for me, i still have warranty

just got off of the phone with the dealership. transmission was blown, they think its the torque converter. said it probably got hot and tore apart. thats even before they've torn it down. but now they're gettin a reman-trans ordered and should have it in by friday. sux though, cause im in a damn focus rental

That happened to me in the TGP. I was pulling out of Sonic and I got on it and right before the turbo started to spool up I heard a loud "POP". I got it checked out and $2500 later I had a new fully built racing tranny and a new torque converter

lluckily im still under warranty. im HOPING they dont find somethin to try and screw me over with, like my K&N. i know they'll always look for somethin to blame, and i dont even come CLOSE to having the money to pay for it.

yeah that sucks man. They'll try to find anything so they don't have to pay for it but I'm sure they can't say that a K&N caused it....that would be obsurd

no joke. it just sux that its only got 42,000 on it and transmission parts are already wearin out, or something of the kind. got any ideas of lettin the truck work more easier with the tires i got on it? i figured id regear it later down the road, but thats gonna cost me some good money and idk it will help out the tranny and engine any.

Yeah it's stuff like this that make me wonder if I should get an extended warranty once my factory warranty runs out.

i suggest u do. make sure u get the premium extended warranty. its a lil pricey, but u get a rental. it sucks for me, being 19, enterprise couldnt rent to me, so i went through a whole bunch of s--t.

I know the feeling. I had to get a rental and Enterprise gave me a freakin' nissan sentra. I was like, "Look, I'm 6'3, WTF am I going to do with a friggin' sentra."
