Default Transmission question! !!

I have a 2006 5.4 3valve. I just bought it about a month ago, it has 114,000 i changed the plugs, and other misc. Stuff. I dont know if the transmission fluid has ever been flushed.

I was wondering your guys input on this topic? I have an appointment to get it done tomorrow. Should i do it or not????

I don't know exactly what your concern is, or isn't. There was a thread posted a few days ago about changing the fluid, therefore which can result in slipping: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/tranny-...lipping-94610/

I'd talk to your transmission guy if you're concerned. It's their job to be informed on the matter. I know Fords are pretty sensitive at times on transmission stuff. Just do your research.

if the tranny is shifting fine i wouldent mess with it. specially if it hasnt been done and because it has reached the 100k mark. these trannys are touchy at times

I was in almost the same boat, bought it sight unseen with 130k on the clock.
Spent a week or two bringing the maintenance up to snuff, oil, filters, belt, FPDM.
My trans shifted fine but would occasionally hang up like with was trying to decide whether to downshift under part throttle around 50. Took it in for a flush and the fluid looked dirty but not black. However, the flow was low on the machine (Fords are known for that too). Had the filter replaced and fluid fill instead. It shifts silky smooth without any reoccurance of the "hangup".

On a side note, I'd like to know what your experience was with the plugs, whether they'd been done before, how many broke. Feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
Chris

Anytime I buy a used vehicle, I immediately change all fluids and filters.. Coolant, oil, trans and rear.
If the vehicle has a non-permanent timing belt, I will change that too. Learned my lesson on that one.

Smart man. I'm the same way. All fluids, filters, plugs, belts etc.
