Cool Transmission Problem ?

I have a 2007 F 150 4.6l Automatic has 50,000 mi on it and I am having a problem with it. Hoping someone on here might have an idea. When running about 55 and giving it a little gas it shutters just for a second when it ****s up it smooths out will do it at other speeds but not as bad. thinking transmission or torque converter not locking up quick enough any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tranny lag, common issue, trans is trying to figure out what gear to go in. If you put a tuner on it it will be gone

I know it sounds completely unrelated, but check the foam gasket around your air filter tray - pretty common problem, and the harmonics that it creates with airflow can create a shudder/slipping feeling through the drivetrain. Many guys on here have described the same issue and it was the filter tray gasket.

Careful with tuners - keep in mind that every change made with a tuner creates a negative effect somewhere else.

not sure what other poster means about a neg. effect, i haven't had any issues and my truck is now way better driving and towing

Tuners can do wonders for your truck. However, keep in mind that your truck rolled off the line optimally tuned believe it or not. Almost all performance tunes sacrifice either mpg or emissions. Many aren't too concerned about emissions or mpg as long as their ride sounds good and has the power they're looking for. All of your stock components are designed to run on a stock tune. Deviating from that time can lead to premature wear and failure of certain components. I've pulled enough engines apart in my day to tell you that modded and tuned engines don't look very nice after a few years compared to stock. All depends what you're looking for in a truck, and what you're willing to spend down the road for the sake of some extra noise and a few more hp.
