"Transmission Malfunction"?, I'd say...
So, Thursday morning, on my way to work, I'm going up a very small hill, and I feel a faint slip in the transmission, I was going about 20 miles per hour, thought to myself, hmm, what could that have been? I get to a set of lights, slow to a stop, the light turns green, and it's like I don't have first or second gear. The truck is struggling to get going. Luckily I'm right around the corner and I coast into the lot at work, and the transmission Malfunction" light comes on and the OD light is blinking.
Long story short, 2006 F150 Lariat with 82k, transmission is shot. It's at the dealership now, getting a brand new transmission with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. All for only a little over $3k. Lucky me...

Sorry to hear that brother. Happens to the best of vehicles sometimes. My 04 ranger's transmission was very close to taking dump on me just before it was totalled and I got my F-150.

i had the EXACT same thing happen to me when I was waiting in line for the 1/4mi racetracks... my message center said "transmission malfunction" & the O/D started flashing... i was like F!!!!!!!! .... but I was barely moving due to bumper2bumper traffic..... the O/D light stopped flashing & my truck ran fine.......... I went to go get my check engline light checked out & nothing...

it does suck, but hey, I got a nice warranty out of it. Picked it up last night, another bonus is it went from 13.9MPG up to over 17.5 when I pulled into work and checked it this morning.
