2006 ford f15 took it to the shop because the 4 wheel drive would not work they replaced the transfer case shift motor and also the right front four wheel drive lock assembly. Picked up the truck and now issues with the transmission the shop said my transmission is failing and I need a new transmission? It was fine when I took it to the shop what could the problem be? I find it very strange that it was fine till they worked on the 4 wheel drive.

 

Replacing the transfer case shift motor is a very easy job and has really nothing to do with the tranny.. the shift motor bolts to the transfer case not the tranny.. did they say what the problem was with your tranny ? Or it’s just failing.. failing for what ? How many miles on your truck ?

 

what issues are you having with the trans? Maybe they loosened some wiring under the truck while working on the shift motor.
Just thinking of possible issues..
