Transmission help
Have a 2005 F150 XLT 5.4L. 2 issues the first is reverse. Now every since I got it when I put it in reverse the whole truck violently shakes bad, every time, no matter how long it is in reverse for, or my speed, of course it gets worse with speed.
Problem 2, just started, noticed it was having trouble getting into overdrive, around 40mph + the RPMs will rev up then down, then stay up.. and it just wont shift in to o/d when it should, it eventually does though. If I drive with o/d off it seems fine... I can drive with o/d off, then when I get around 50mph+ I put in o/d and again seems fine.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,

Sometimes when I'm in the 40 range my truck bumps. I know I need plugs but have been running hi octane and haven't noticed it. I read on the forum another guy had a similar situation and it stopped when he changed his plugs. I don't know how that would help the shaking in reverse though.
I had the same issue these plugs are really hard to pull and my buddy told me he gets these trucks in all the time where the truck skipping or whatever after it's had new plugs the coils sit on top of the plug and if you bang it or whatever you won't have good spark or no spark take it back in and tell them they messed it up
Yeah I went through all that already... the plugs are a pain, actually had one break off in the head! that was fun getting out, but all plugs are good and are firing, I did have to change out 2 coil packs. But like I said it just has trouble getting into O/D... can it be the soliniod going bad?
