Default tractor pull

So once a year in the small town I live in there is a fair, that has a tractor pull. Last year I purchased a 04 f150 FX4 then added a 6 inch BDS lift with 35 inch mud grapplers, new rims, in dash gps/stereo and a few other new gadgets. I am changing my gears to 4.56, getting custom tunes, then cold air in take. Was wondering what people think on how well the truck would perform in a tractor pull against some of the diesel trucks that are usually the only trucks in it.

you would get laughed at by the crowd man. if you make it more than 10 feet with a sled you would be doin good. i wouldnt be surprised if you broke something also. leave it to the diesals that have the torque and suspension to do that.

Nothing against you or your truck(I love your truck, by the way). But I wouldn't even attempt it. Diesels were built for pulling heavy loads and lord only knows what mods those guys have on their diesels to get even more pulling power.

tractor pull trucks are like drag racing cars. They are built, and modified for the sport. I would advise keeping your truck away from it.

Alright well thanks for the advice, was just curious on it, didn't know how well it would hold up against a stock diesel. Thanks again

I've heard of gas truck doing decent. I'd say go for it, if you get laughed at, who cares, i know a guy who drag raced a stock gremlin. Have fun and know you might break something, but judging by your truck it seems like you're not too foreign to those situations. Love the stance by the way.

My guess is that we will be reading posts from you soon on your transmission biting the dust....

Haha it already bit the dust, reverse went out so that is being re-built right now, probably installing a body lift and doing a under body coat while the trans is being built

Maybe if you supercharge it, but I still don't think it would be good for your drive-train. Buy a POS truck to beat the snot out of. There is a reason why big trucks have diesel engines, and there is a reason why NASCAR etc. uses gasoline engines.
