TPMS = B.S.... Found a Solution
Lets be honest, TPMS is tied in which the EEC related functions, its integral, the code is stored, after a set or certain number of key cycles or disconnection of the negative terminal, the light be turned off. The code is still stored and you will eventually get the light again. The dealership, due to liability issues wont deactivate it, thats a given.
my tpms light acts just like a female... sometimes its there and sometimes it aint.... but never goes away permenantly... i still have not gotten by the tire store here to see how they can turn them off..
Pessimist? Well, to be honest with you, if the mere fact that you failed to do some simple research lead to YOUR conclusion that Ford incorporated a poor system and that it is everyones fault but your own and that credible info from someone who has a bit of knowledge on the function of ford EEC's is giving you honest advice. that advice being offered for free because I have nothing to gain, if that is considered pessimistic, then ok. I deal with facts and hard data, both of which are backed by some degree of experience. If something is wrong, why should I say its right? So that you are happy.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. All I said is that there ought to be a viable solution for the problem without having to resort to the hassle of swapping sensors or buying new ones. So many people put on custom wheels and tires that there should be and probably is a reasonable fix. For the record, I didn't ask for a diagnosis or reiteration of what I already know. I asked for a solution other than swapping the sensors into my new wheels. I didn't blame Ford for their system and I didn't blame Big O for not catching it. I told them that all we were doing was mounting the new tires and swapping the wheels. Since you're the pessimistic expert, feel free to get back to me when you have a solution other than the obvious. BTW, I don't take kindly to being treated like I'm stupid any more than you like being called "pessimistic".
just take your truck to a discount tire, they will reset the sensors for you and youll be fine. and irregardless of new wheels, they put the sensors in the new wheel and should reset the sensors before you leave.
