I really want to order towing mirrors.. but would these work on my 05 Lariat??? Will they be close to OEM quality??? Or should I only buy OEM mirrors??? I feel like I'm paying too much for OEM. What should I do? I also would want the mirrors with the removable skul caps that you can PTM.

Can you remove the caps on any of the towing mirrors, or do u have to buy certain ones that have the removable caps??

No you take the glass out and removed the caps by a few screws. Its a real pain in the *** though.

Yea it is I did that today on my regular mirrors to paint the caps on them.



But as for the tow mirrors, I thought they had caps for them like these here:

Those are replacement caps. To install them you have to remove the old ones first to install the new ones. That can only be done by removing the glass from the mirror and taking out the 4 screws holding the cap in place.

So any of the tow mirror caps will work on any of the tow mirrors??? I always thought that those caps that I pictured above say over top of the existing textured caps.

Never seen ones that go over the existing ones. Would not look good at all possible n my opinion if it did. The caps would not line up and look like an obvious stick on. In fact your caps can be removed the same way. Pull the glass and there is 4 screws holding it in place. I had an 04 with those mirrors that I did the caps on.

True.. Lol nother question, I know in the eBay ad it says they are direct plug and play for any 04-08 f150... But sometimes they are wrong. So for wiring setup, how close to OEM would it be? And I've also heard of eBay mirrors glass shaking and stuff. Where did u get your mirrors??
