Default Towing Mirrors

I tried searching various places and just can't seem to get a concrete answer. Will tow mirrors from a newer F150 or Super Duty fit on my 2005 Supercrew or are there other options for me that would be better. I want something that allows me to see better when I'm pulling my 27 ft. camper. My stock mirrors just don't cut it. Thanks.

Why try to mickey mouse superduty mirrors on when these are bolt on for 260 bucks?

they slide out quite a bit from the position in the picture too

the tow mirrors from the 07-12 F150 are a direct bolt in replacement for the 04-12.

Hey there,
I have a 07 F-150 (Lariat) and after two years of jerking around with bolt-on extension mirrors, bought and installed the real deals just this past weekend. They are listed for F-150, 2010 and up, but they fit down to 2004 and the ones I bought are 7L3Z-17682-AE (RH) AND 7L3Z-17683-AE (LH). I paid $305 for the pair which I was told was cost +10%.

These have the same functions as the factory Lariat mirror (heated, electic adj, signals) and are black texture finished, just like the original Lariat mirrors. The chrome topped version is available, but very expensive, but I found that you can buy the chrome caps from Ford (8L3Z-17D42-AA, 8L3Z-17D743AA) for $25+ each and switch them over. I haven't done that yet, but plan to.

The change-over was a snap, but while I pretty much can handle most stuff on my truck, I don't work for Ford and never had a F150 door apart. I'm sure that without finding and using the video below, I would have broke something on the door panel, trying to figure out how it comes off.
Hope I was able to help....good luck.
Fred

When my father sold his 07 f150 king Ranch with the towing package I took his mirrors off, painted them black, and put them on my 05. I had never done it before but after messing around with it for awhile I was able to do it easily. Itll help with towing and make the truck stand out.

Default Do pwr tow mirrors fit perfect replacements or have extra wires?

My husband has a 2011 ford f-150 FX4 and I'm trying to buy my husband these tow mirrors for his truck for his birthday, but I'm confused on what the telescoping means? And do the tow power mirrors that fold in are automatically replaceable from the standard mirrors or would does it have extra wires and I need to take it to the dealership to get put on? I just don;t want to ask him and spoil the surprise bc i'm sure its been so long he forgot I even remember. THANKS!!

Hi There,
Your hubby's a lucky guy as these mirrors will make all the difference in the world when towing. The part numbers for the mirrors I listed above are for manual telescoping, which means that you physically pull them out when towing and push them back in when not. The mirrors extend out away from the truck about another four inches or so..I never measured.... I don't have any experience with mirrors that will do this automatically, but I will take an educated guess that your FX-4 would not be wired for this function anyway. The mirrors also (manually) fold back up to the door if you're parking on a narrow street or in a narrow garage. I've been out of the "new truck loop" for a while and don't know if any of the F mirrors fold up to the doors automatically, but I would think that this would be only when the igniton is turned off for parking. Again to have this function wired into a truck that was not equipped as such, could be asking for more than it's worth. Hope this helps.

Not trying to jack another guy's thread---but will the tow mirrors be heated and are all Ford's pre-wired for heat? Sorry OP, just wondering.
