towing
Hi
I own a 2005 f150 xlt 5.4l 3v motor tow package (65000 MILES) . I'M TOWING A 6000LB CAMPER WITH THE TRUCK AND WHEN I HEAD UP TO THE WHITE MOUNTAINS THE TACK IS DOING 4000 WHEN I HIT THE HILLS, IS THAT OK ? LAST TIME I WENT UP THERE I BLEW A PLUG AND AN INJECTOR IN THE #7 PISTON. JUST MAKING SURE I'm not overwieght

Your truck should be plenty capable of pulling a trailer that only weighs 6,000 lbs. But you have to remember that if you are going up inclines with dead weight behind you the truck needs to work harder to get everything moving, also if you are in the mountains the air is thinner so you lose some power, and also you are not in overdrive so your truck is compensating for all of those things. You are only running 4,000 rpm up hills correct? On flat ground you shouldn't be running that high of an RPM.

What type of elevation change is it?? Grade??
Do you have anything else impeding your power??
