I have the Pioneer AppRadio 2 running ARLiberator on my rooted HTC One. What all that boils down to is I plug in my phone and connect Bluetooth and my HU mirrors my phone directly on its 7" touch screen. Theres some work involved in picking your phone, rooting (jailbreaking) it, bypassing the parking break controls, working through bugs... But in the end, being able to do ANYTHING my phone can do on my larger HU works out pretty slick. Google Maps, Navigation, Internet, Netflix, voice texting... all done from the safety of a parked car of course . But in all seriousness all I do whole driving is choose Pandora stations. Not a bad options if your looking for something unique and head turning.

This is also another option. Look for what was high end a couple years ago and go craigslist/ebay hunting. This can be difficult though for the obvious reasons. Hardest part is knowing what model years pertain to which model number. Just like my previous example with pioneer. 5600 replaced an 8500. Or there was a model I use have called the 7800mp, the 780mp was some premium version that was a lot different looking but same year. I also found a 1 year old model for $100 on Craigslist that was still on crutch field for $250. The guy sold his truck and bought a bike, didnt need it anymore.

Sorry to be winded. Its HONESTLY easier to buy new because the research is on hand and easy. But there is a potential to save over $100+ buying used. My opinion is buy new with double DIN. They have better software to handle the newest phones and bluetooth.

Those AppRadio's look awesome. Just spec wise they don't meet enough, which is to bad. Wish they decked them out or offered another model.

For example the App Radio 3 vs the 5600BHS Both are $499
Only 4 channel output vs 6
2 volts preampe vs 4 volts
5 EQ band vs 8
1 usb input vs 2
no Aux input
no memory card slot
no HD radio
no Sat radio

The appradio damn good at what its meant for yes, I personally just wish it had all those things listed above, in another model (add a DA310 model, this is the DA210). Mind you I do get WHY they don't have some of those things. Because your phone IS those things which it directly connects with. Sat radio, dont need AUX input, your phone is the memory card, etc
