Default Tire reccomendation please

I have a 2007 Lariat SCREW with 18 inch wheels. I pretty much don't go off road except maybe an occasional dirt road to someones house maybe.

I am looking for a tire that is quiet and smooth with decent wear for mostly street driving. Quiet and comfort are my main goals. Does anyone have a tire that the can reccommend for this?

Best tire I ever had was the Goodyear Silent Armour, and that is saying a lot since I have used many different brands and styles of tire over my lifetime.

I really can't say enough good things about that tire if you are looking for all around performance on a truck.

They were great off road and answered the call every time. Their street manners are incredible. They continually impressed me in the winter even when I thought they were nearing the end of their lifespan.

I would recommend you take a serious look at them. I had to go to something more aggressive due to the amount of time I spend off road camping, fishing and hunting. However, I ran then in all those situations and was impressed.

If they had been available in the size I wanted I would have had a hard time not buying them over the more aggressive Cooper Maxx ST that I went with.

In my moose hunting party, 4 of the trucks out there still run the Silent Armour and will buy them again.

I have what I believe are AT tires, a compromise of off road and street. They are surprisingly smooth considering tread pattern.
I have noticed that some trucks have tread that looks more like passenger car tires and wondered if they would be more towards what I want.
Goodyear Silent Armour looks close to tread I have now.
I was wondering something more like the Michelin defender series or LTX might be even smoother???

Michelins are known for having superior treadwear ratings. Often you can find em at Costco with a $70 off sale.

AT tires are great. I love my Firestone destinations. On my second set actually. But based on what the op said, I don't think he needs an all terrain tire. A more quiet ride would be had with a basic AS tire.

I personally run Michelin Latitude Tour HP on my truck (2006 mark lt). They have good road manners and are a highway tire, which i believe is what you are seeking.

Latitude Tour HPs come stock on a some high performance SUVs. I've towed around 4k lbs with them and they did just fine. They are wearing evenly and have served me well. I would suggest these or the Continental Crosscontact LX20.

Both of the above suggestions serve the road quietness and ride quality you are seeking. They're also both ECO tires so they save you gas over the lifetime of the tires with the low rolling resistance.

Cooper Discoverer A/T3

I have them on my 2004 FX4
Bro has them on his Titan
Mom has them on her Grand Cherokee
Friend has them on her Grand Cherokee

We get snow here though. Cooper may make one slightly less aggressive if you don't get snow.

I'm running General Grabber A/T2's and love them. I had a 2004 Chevy Colorado prior to my F150 and had them on there too, and swore I would buy another set if I ever needed them. So when I bought my F150 I did. no regrets. on the Colorado I ran 265/70/17, on the F150 Im running 315/70/17. Really surprised by how quiet the 315's are
