Default Tire question...

Before anyone starts about searching, DON'T. Checked here and alot of different other sources. Just want to know if a 295/65/18 would require any type of leveling or lift. It's just a bit over 33". I have a 2004 FX4. Looking for beefier tire to fit stock wheels and suspension.

Then when you do search everybody wonders why you resurrected such an old thread.

Like I stated, I searched here and other sources. No one seems to have a definitive answer. One place says no lift for 33", another states 2" leveling kit for 33" and yet another reads a 2" level will let me run 35". Oh, thank you Corey. I haven't been called young since the first gulf war.

A 4x4 you can clear a 35x12.5 on stock tires with a 2.5" level and some trimming. Did it on my last truck. Now I will say this, I had to run 1.5" wheel spacers to keep the tires from hitting the frame of the truck.

The discrepancies you're seeing depends on if the vehicle is 2wd or 4x4. 2x4 can clear 33x12.5 with stock wheels on a 2.5" level. A 4x4 can clear 35x12.5 on stock wheels with a 2.5" level. I have also confirmed that you can fit a 20x9 with 35x12.5 Nitto Trails on just a 2.5" level.

I cleared 33's (305/55/20) on my 3/5 lowered Superduty.......not sure why a stock height F150 cant clear 33's on stock wheels.

I now understand the confusion that the OP mentions, with all the different answers to this issue.

Well, decided to do a leveling kit anyway. Going 2.5" on the front with 1" spacers on the rear. Going to run 295/70/18 on stock wheels.
