tint questions
what is the % of the stock tint on the back windows, and has anyone had any trouble putting tint over the F-150 logo on the front windshield? I know dot matrix's can be difficult... can you still see the logo well after?
its 45% on the back windows, and it goes over it just fine on the front, i have 5% over stock on my truck's back 3, and on the front 2 i have 35% over stock, i wanna go darker on the front until it get night time lol
I'm not sure this quote is accurate??? I put 35% tint on my front windows and the back is defiantly darker. Shop told me it come stock at 20%. I wanted it to match that's why I asked and they said they can't go that dark on the front 3 windows........
I'd check with your local state laws about how dark you can go. In Florida and Texas, the police carry a simple card with a certain font size text. If they suspect the tint is too dark, they can pull you over, place this card behind the window, and attempt to read the text on this card. If they cannot, they will give you a fine, and you have a certain amount of time to remove the tint.
My son drives an SRT-4. He insisted on having dark tint installed. He drove for over a year, then got pulled by a state trooper. Cost him $75.00, plus he had to remove the tint.
Put yourself in the police' shoes. Would you want to pull over a vehicle that you cannot see into? Not me. Even though you and I might think we are "nice guys" and would "never pull a gun", the police don't know that.
Try to be considerate on law inforcement. I have good friends that are police officers. I would not want their job.

lovethetide is right when using a spectrophotometer (fancy name for a unit that measures the light absorption of a medium) and some calculations (I know I'm bored and nerdy) Ive seen the factory tint between 20% to 15% depending to the surroundings. And if you have a light colored interior use an even darker tint because of light coming in the front window.

That's a good point. I've got tint over every inch of glass, even the windsheild, but because I have the tan interior it does not seem to be dark at all on the inside compaired to a friend of mine that has nearly the same tint but a dark grey interior.
Do you have any more pics?
Edit: I just saw your other post, NVM about the tint.
