Angry Temp questions

OK I need accurate info regarding the noramal/high and too hot opperating temps for the tranny, and engine oil and coolant.
I think i am running way too hot (the dealership changed the clutch fan under warranty 3 weeks ago because it felt that the truck was running hot said the fan was not functioning propperly I told them i have never heard the fan engauge at all)

My truck 08 Lariat 4x4 SC 5.4L with Edge programmer was running level 2 Magnaflow SISO cat back, K&N FIPK II 63 series. 4" Suspension lift 35" tires 3.55 (stock) gears (I know i need to upgrade still lol)

History truck has run "hot" since new. I was told all new trucks run hot for emmissions but this seems way too hot.Edge indicates EI- 220 at the cylinder head 211 at the rad tranny was at 210. Confirmed at the dealership and on Snap on Solos scantool.

Question Can the edge be causing the "heat" issue somehow?

Side note truck seems to lose power once hot and i understand its the timing advance retarding because of the temps but the stock dash guages are all in the norm range. Again the tech at the dealership informed me the gauges are averages at best and really only indicate once its way outside the norm.

Guys and gals i really need some advice here as i am not a meachanic.
I am going to return the truck to "stock" program with the edge and monitor to see if temp range change at all.

Default Too funny Atom i was just reading a post from you

I was running her hard 140+ kph (75-85 mph) full throttle pull up hill with AC on (Sea Sky Highway in BC Canada)

Please note this is not my normal driving it was done to test the heat issue only....

normal speeds are 80-90 KPH (50 ish MPH) truck still sat at 204 - 206

If i drive slow up dirt roads for like 10 miles it heats up too like this.

This sucks i need to know what this is and get her fixed before she melts.

If it was my truck...i would request to have the trans fluid changed and filter replaced....it sounds like you may have a blockage somewhere or a line that has partially collapsed.

Yeah at the rate the clutch packs will be shot in no time...The temp i posted is with the AC too.

Default To the shop

I have a master mechanic spending the day with her on Thursday. It is not at my local dealership its a private shop whos mechanic builds race engines and actually cares about his work. I dont care about warranty or price at this point only that this gets fixed (before further damage) All the fluids OIL Tranny and coolant are being changed / flushed / pressure tested etc whatever is required to find and fix this. I spent 2 hours on friday NO CHARGE at his shop and he dropped everything to check my truck out. Bonus is he installs and warranty's edge installs so he knows his stuff regarding their products too. I just dont want the dealer to touch her again.

Default Will Do so

I am going to try the return to stock tomorrow to see if that effects it. Outside ambient temps will be the same as todays were so it should be a geed test.

ouch! i have the edge chip. 3'' flo catback and a knn cai. towing my 29' trailer it raises to about 180 in town and 155 on the highway. i agree with the blockage cause the coolers on the f150 are more than suffeciant for the lift and tires u have. good luck.!
