Default Tailgate step

Does a 2009 tailgate fit our trucks? I would like to swap my tailgate for one with the step.

It does not fit. It bows out at the top and doesn't fit the body's lines at all.

Taking a shot in the dark but I believe any 04-08 will fit any 04-08. I wouldn't take my word for it, but you tend to see 04-08's clumped together based off body style and similarities.

Not sure if this link works. As soon as it saves, it masks part of the address.
PM it to me, but with spaces. I'll see what's happening to it.

You could always swap an entire bed onto your truck. The lines look half decent. https://www.f150forum.com/f78/2013-bed-swap-221564/

Swapping the bed is the only good option looks wise. The 09-14 tailgate has a lip at the top that flairs out. It would stick out a couple inches if used with an 04-08 bed.

The photos above do it no justice as they are just straight on rear shots. If you saw photos from the side you'd see how bad it would look.

The only issue with swapping beds is you'd have the ugly 09-14 tail lights.

I saw a newer F150 XLT and the tailgate did have the "DUCKASS" But the ends where it meet the bed where flared down smooth.
