It's just the small digital thing at the bottom right right? Did you keep clicking threw the different options by just clicking the trip button?

What's up guys ive got a quick question. Ive bought an aftermarket 2inch tachometer and ive read that there is no distributor. If this is true does this mean that it will not work on my pillar pod without spending a ton of money?

Contact Jegs or Summit; they sell a "box" that will adapt a pulse wire tach to connect to the late model Fords. Pricey though. For what you'll have invested in that tiny tach and the box, you will kick yourself for not buying a cluster with tach.

thanks for the info man, I'm gonna have to save up and buy the Autometer tach adapter and tap in the obd wires. Guess i'll just mount the unit it under the steering wheel and run the wires under the dash up to the pillar. I have an 04 lariat so I already have the tach in my cluster, but my engine is getting older so I wanted to get two accurate and important gauges installed to further monitor that everything is running correctly. The stock tach seems to move a little late to the sounds im hearing from the exhaust. Still gives a ball park reading imo but I want exact reading.

The only two gauges that really matter because i'm never gonna be able to fork out $6k for s/c are tach and o/p. I'm gonna either go sct or gryphon for a tune but its the only way im gonna be able to max out my truck with out harming it. I have the 3.55LS rear end so my truck shifts fairly quick @ wot. Tach for shift tuning and o/p for accurate o/p reading. Two functioning moving gauges that are easier to read and look cool on the a-pillar. Plus they are led backlit with 7 different colors. Check them out in my albums I already wrote up "diy" article on painting them. Spent $110 on everything so far. add in +-$40 for adapter(im gonna shop), total $150. There is the science

I got the SCANGAUGE II which sells for $ 169.00, it plugs into the ODBII connector, and has a slew of gauges built into it. It can also read codes and reset them. It is programable for all gas engine seizes, thell you what you immediate MPG and also your avg MPG is. It can be set to measure speed, RPM's etc. In all a very nifty little instrument. You can get a a second cable so that it can be moved to another vehicle in minutes. Here's a link:http://www.scangauge.com/
Good luck.
