Default A/T Tires

I've had M/T tires on my F150 ever since I got it. I've never had a/t on it. Will I see a big difference in performance and such from switching to a/t tires but still the the same size (35X12.5X18). I am currently running 35X12.5X18 Mud grapplers. Just curious if anyone has done this and has some information on the swtich. Thanks

I had BFG m/t's on mine for awhile. They were way too noisy. Looked nice, but not meant for the open road. Everybody I passed on the hwy would look to see if I was running a flat because it was so loud. Even with a levelling kit, they would rub on the front in a full turn. Am rolling firestone destinations as well - super quiet, great in the mud and snow, no rubbing, and much better on fuel. Have done some capacity hauling for several km's through some wikkid terrain with mud, and they didn't slip on me once.

Thanks for the replies. Better mileage would be great. I'm assuming it will be a lot smoother of a ride and the it being more quite will be nice to. I've looked at the general grabber at 2. Pretty good price it seems and great reviews

You will likely notice a better ride and slightly better mileage due to the less aggressive tread. I also second the Firestone Destination AT's, absolutely awesome tire.

I was a bit disappointed with the destinations at first, because the first couple of 32'nds seemed to wear really quick, however, they've held steady ever since, and will last a long time at this rate. Talked to a few other guys who had similar experiences. Really is an excellent tire, and very affordable. One of the top-selling truck tires up here.

I read an article in a 4wheel drive mag saying that just by putting mud grapps on your truck you lose and average 10hp cause they are so heavy, and no joke.

I went from BFG mt's to BFG at's. The biggest thing I noticed was how quiet they were. I've had no issues with them in the snow or off road and I am much happier with an all terrain tire. Also noticed a small gain in MPG.

I ran the A/T's for years and loved them. Im curious about your M/T's. I was told they dont have traction in snow and ice. How did yours handle?

I run Nitrogen filled Goodyear Fierce Attitude M/T. I love these tires great in mud and sand, clean out good. They are very quiet on the road. I have about 15000 miles on them and they don't seem to be worn at all. I rotate at every oil change. I am 99% satisfied with these tires. 1% unsatisfied due to them picking up rocks more often than I like. I would highly recommend them.
