The power cable was 4 gauge. And yea the rca's or whatever whatever they are called are nice quality. And it better be good. Wiring kit cost me almost $200! Lol. But yea. Very clean install. It is nice having friends in the audio business. And we still gotta finish just a few small finishing touches due to forgetting some small stuff at their shops lol.

It used to connect to my iPhone but now it doesn't recognize it sadly. And it doesn't recognize older iPods either which is upsetting. Not even to charge it.

Did you notice the 5600bhs is replacing the 8500bhs? Asking because if you did, was there any reason you chose the 8500 instead. Only difference I could see for specs is the 8500 is 6.9" screen and 5600 is 7" (or 7.1" cant remember and on phone so not easy enouhh to look it up) and the 8500 uses a different adapter to hook up to your droid while 5600 and all its little brothers in the line use $100 mirror link box/adapter

Crutchfield has both listed and both are exact same price.

Dont knock big systems! I got 2 12" subs in ported box doing 350rms each (not big but makes hair trickle). Thats in my wife's mazda 3. Its easy to turn down the big bass to keep it balancwd but its fun to show off to those thay ask for it .

I also still have tje whole set up I had in the explorer the trucm replaced. 2 12" dvc rockfords getting 750watts rms each. That was obnoxiously loud. But again It was turned down to keep a balanced sound till ppl take their first rides in it and need to show off!

Didn't notice. I think the 8500 was only available when I did mine. But the blue tooth is a must. Hands down.

Sadly I hate that you lose the steering wheel controls without an extra piece

Actually noticed same one used in mazda is what it suggested for the truck.

Nice setup!! I just purchased an AVH-X8500BHS to put in my 07. Any tips? Things I need to buy? I currently have the stock head unit with Sirius Sat, upgraded 6x9 5 way door speakers, a 10 Kicker sub with a 250watt amp. My goal is to add the stereo and keep my Sirius.
