so backspacing is constant between all rim width sizes but the 9" wide wheel may help pull it out some but i don't think it will be much. on the 7.5" wide rim, you have 2.885" of tire sticking past the edge of the rim on each side. on a 9 inch rim you'd have 2.135" sticking out on each side... you stock rims are effectively like running 5.25" of back spacing and the run lightly... actually 5.5" on a 9" rim would prolly just work because you're tire is being moved out about 3/4 of an inch and you're moving the rim 1/4 inch closer.

[QUOTE=MGD;3482675]According to whom? You?

If you ever have an accident attributable to wheel/tire failure and there are injuries or worse, yer going to regret those words. They do check these sorts of things, given cause. Why do you suppose the tire folks have those specs, anyway, hmmmm?

The dumb things kids do to save a few $$$

Oh yeah - my opinion (you did ask, remember): looks like *** - and also looks like you did it the cheap way, not the right way. Won't matter what colour yall paint it. Lipstick on a pig.

Sorry - just being blunt & honest. Adult truck forum, reckon. Nothing personal. Savvy?

Hahaha! I'm not going to get all off topic on this thread but did enjoy the chuckle. The truck looks better than I would have expected. Nice work! I too have run a bigger tire on a stock rim that was a half an inch smaller than recommended. Can wait to see it with a nice set of wheels!

It's interesting that no one asked whether or not you child rides in the truck. Do you have the hub centric spacers? I wanted to something similar but just didn't feel comfortable using cheap wheel spacers on a vehicle I paid 35k for and that drives around my little priceless bundle of joy so I would look cool. I hope you considered this as well. It's like leaving a dog in your car with the window cracked in the middle of summer. I just don't understand some peoples priorities. That being said...it does look nice. I hope you stay safe.

im not telling you what to do or that what your doing is wrong. Real talk though...you seem to keep trying to justify endangering yourself and others. I think statistically most vehicular accidents occur within 5 miles of your home and while you're traveling under 35 mph. Just saying.
