My subs are DC Audio Level II Competition subs, and they have a mounting depth of 5.5". That's about the max you can get under there.
The key is to get a down-firing box (makes the subs face down instead of up). I'll try and get pics as soon as I can

and thanks, pics will definitely help! lol
I'd look at SMD audio build.. He makes a whole center console that looks factory with 2 10's if I remember correctly. Said heD charge 450 to make the box then shipping and the subs and amps would be extra.. That's the way I'm gonna go.

where are you at. i might be willing to sell just a box i got another one i just finished building. i can carpet it with black speaker box carpet and ship it to you. I can leave it with out holes. Ill post some pics later this afternoon. Let me know if you would be interested in buying the box. It sticks out about an inch from the front of the seat but you dont hardly notice it with the black carpeting.
i'm in georgia and yeah i might be interested! if you could get some pictures up that'd be great.
and what were those rockford fosgate shallow mount subs you got? i looked them up and they make several shallow mount models lol

my setup runs twin 12' downfiring CVT kickers with a 1000 Watt Alpine amp under the pasenger seat
. I think im about to redo alot of the wiring and get a ported box for my screw though. My buddy has a ported box with twin 8' subs and i think it sounds alot better. So if your willing to spend a little bit more money a ported box really makes a difference, and you can save some $ by putting in a pair of 8's instead of 10's or 12's like i did
just two cents from my expirence
when i put my system in the amp cost me about $400, the box & subs were around $350 and the wiring kit, JVC deck and 4 new speakers for the cab were about $300
I could have easily saved by finding better deals, but to get a decent system should be somewhere from 700 to 1000 bucks
you get what you pay for with upgrades like these and if that means paying a little extra for a custom system and install than thats the only way to go
