Default STX door lock?

2005 stx 4x4, on thing that has been driving me nuts it has power locks, but the only way to lock and unlock it the remote , there is no lock button inside the cab, is this a normal stx thing or did someone remove the buttons? if they are supposed to be there where do they go in the door panel?

If its an STX there's a good chance the power locks are aftermarket. I know my 04 STX has manual locks. At one point power locks were an option but I'm unsure what year that is. If there is no lock button on the inside of the cab I'd think it's aftermarket.

Im with believing they are aftermarket as well. My STX had no power anything. It did however have a key slot on the passenger door handle to unlock either door with the key... Something my XLT SCrew lacks.

Majority of the time the electrical connections are there. They usually made one electrical loom for all, and left options tucked away behind panels. BUT, in your case i do not know exactly when the STX was available with that option. If it was later then you won't find anything. Like I said most cases the factories did this. Not all the time. I would just unsnap the part on the door where the button should be and look to see if there is a connector back there. Worth a shot.

I think 06/07 is when the power option was available. If your side view mirrors are manual paddle style "Elephant ears," then you didn't have power locks or windows to begin with.

Take a pic of your keyfob and door where your locks would go. I'd bet the previous owner added power locks and it's much easier to wire to a keyless entry. That's exactly what I did to my old Ranger.

My 08 STX has power windows, locks and mirrors from the factory. I don't know when they started installing them.

In 08 you could get an STX with power options as an upgrade. They also offered it with manual locks windows and mirrors for a little less $$.
