I was under my truck yesterday ('05 5.4 scab) looking at my FPDM and saw something I don't recognize. In the general area between where the fpdm and the fuel tank thee is a cylinrical unit, about 2' long and about 4" dia. mounted under the frame crossways to the truck. Does anyone know what that is?

Do they have that? only had the truck for a month. but you know it kind of looks like a winch.

 

Not a spare tire hoist, this has wires running to it, 2 ft long, about 4 in. diameter, behind the fuel tank.

 

Like otto said it should be your evap canister
