Default Stuck in park. Help

So I run a laptop in my truck. The power inverter and AC were both on. The power inverter beeped and now both turn singles and the bright for headlight on the dash is on. No dash lights. It will not come out of park but the truck starts. The only way to get out of park is no headlights on and then it will come out. Help

This might not help. My 98 did the same thing with not coming out of park. Turned out the brake pedal fuse was blown so the computer wasn't recognising my foot on the brake pedal and the shifter wouldn't move. The ABS light came on and stayed on when it happened.
Shut the truck off, changed the fuse, started her back up and drove away! Hasn't happened since. That was in 2007

Could try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it after 10 minutes.

I dont know much about the codes etc but I've read a few times on here that you wont be able to read them afterwards if you do disconnect the battery so dont blame me if it doesnt fix the problem. good luck

It seems like it might be the theft system maybe?

Well everything should reset when the battery is disconnected I'd say. They say leave it disconnected for 10 minutes or more to drain all power.

LISTEN TO ME, PULL OUT THE ABS FUSE (number 13) bc the fuse is blown, replace it and it should shift, I recommend putting a 30 amp as a replacement

That's exactly what I did! But mine's a 98. Different fuse location I believe but same outcome.

Happened to my wife's Explorer...was a short in the white connector box under the steering column. We attempted to change gears while trying to establish a proper connection (wiggle the ****** out of it) and it worked. Not very scientific, but I hope you get out of there!
