Stop and Stare
Hello all. This month started with me traveling around the great state of Louisiana doing work for the National Guard. I recently completed a year long list of upgrades to the truck and enjoyed driving it around the state for a week.
Like most of ya'll, I enjoy talking about my truck and I enjoy asking questions about other trucks that folks have spent some time and money on. I have been driving this truck around since '04 when I bought it, and have never had happen what happened on my week long tour of the state.
I traveled around 1200 miles altogether, which required several stops at the gas station, and when I stopped, peeps would stop and stare. This has never happened before. If I was in lane 2 at the pump, peeps would drive from lane 6 or whatever, and stop in front or beside my truck and just look at it. On one occasion, a FX4 was parked beside me with 3 guys in it and I didn't think they were going to leave till I did, and they were there well before I got there. Another occasion, I was parked and a couple of guys were standing around and I asked them if everything was ok. I thought my truck was in the way or something. They looked at each other and it was clear that neither of them knew the other person, and one guy spoke up and said "no, there isn't nothing wrong, we were just lusting over your truck". I laughed and we talked a few min about what I had done to the truck.
There were several other occasions these types of situations happened and I got to thinking, I wonder if ya'll wanted to share some stories. Things that have happened on the road. Police pulls you over and you start talking suspensions instead of speed limits. That kind of thing. A couple guys want to kick your butt cause their woman stared too long or something like that.
