Default stock cleared headlights

I was wondering if any of you had cleared (removed the orange reflector) from your stock headlights?? I know that they sell black and chrome sets of headlights on ebay but if clearing the stock ones doesn't look bad thats what i want to do. i read on another forum that you can remove the orange reflector pieces by poping them loose in the headlight then crushing them up with pliers and pouring the little pieces out of one of the bulb holes. And you end up with a clear headlight for free and no oven time.
