The question is, are your door speakers loud enough for you. If thats the case you should be able to just run the equalizer to the subs in the back and just keep the normal door speakers wired to the radio unit with out going through the equalizer. If you want the door speakers louder too, then i would suggest replacing them with some that can handle the more watts that the equalizer will push to them.

The big thick positive wire runs from the battery to the amp (with a inline fuse) and the ground gets run from the amp to a grounded source (I just attached it to where the seat belt mounts on the floor). Then I ran the rca cables from the back of the headunit to the amp down the opposite side of the truck that I ran the power wire. you will need a line level converter to run from the head unit to let you plug your rca cables for the amp into because the stock headunit dosent have them. then you need to run the remote wire from a swithed 12v source. I ran it from the power antenna wire commming out of the back of my head unit, and also added a inline switch so I could turn the subs on or off whenever I want.

I have a 2008 Lariat with the 6 disc CD stock stereo. I have a 1000/1 hifonics amp and a 12" pioneer premier shallow under my rear seat. I control my sub with a bass **** and the stereo levels are:BASS-far left TREBLE-far right. It sounds amazing. You need to purchase an in-line adapter because you need RCA's for the amp to connect to your stereo. It should cost around $20. I HAVE STOCK SPEAKERS. HOPE THIS HELPS

All you need is a Hi-low converter which will run off your rear speaker wires and then you run RCA jacks from the converter to your amp then it's back to the basic as far as a amp install : remote power, Direct/Battery power, RCAs, and speaker wires.

You might also want to back the bass down on the head unit which will allow you to get more volume out of you factory speakers you'll find the sub will give more than enough bass
