I have a 2005 F-150 SCREW, it came stock, with a 6 disc cd changer with a regular radio, I have been having problems with it here recently and want to change it, and upgrade to a DVD player. Can i get the head unit with the DVD and navigation that come stock on a lariat or a king ranch edition, or do i have to go aftermarket, and also, some thoughts on some aftermarket products would be great!! Thanks for all the help

 

I hate factory audio, Personally I think the best is Kenwood or Alpine as far as headunits, Pioneer is good as well.

 

i would get an aftermarket head unit, i prefer pioneer but they are all good. the factory navigation sucks IMO compared to a good aftermarket one

 

Although relatively new to this forum, I have several years expirence with audio systems and installations. Over the years auto makers have attempted to improve the performance of "factory" systems but they haven't been able to match Pioneer, Sony, Clarion, Alpine, etc... There are several companies that sell after market systems so you just need to find one that has a system you like. IMO, Crutchfield is one of the best. They have several different devices available and they offer the best "tech" advice you can find. Again this is just MO. Hope this helps and let us know how you make out.

I have a Pioneer AVIV-F700BT and love it...cost me 425 shipped plus 100 install. Easy to use and nav is really good. And btw Geaux Gators!

 

I havent gotten anything yet, it should be later this month, ive run into some other stuff ive had to do the truck, i was in an accident had to get some repair work done, but when i do find the one i want, i will let y'all know what I go with! and btw bossman GEAUX TIGERS!! its goin to be a great game, I cant wait!! best of luck to the Gators, its always a great matchup!
