Default Step bar slippery

Today, my wife got out of my truck and while she was getting out, her foot slipped off of the step bar (might not be the right name) and she fell and is bruised but she is ok. I really need to find a step bar that is not so slick, wet or not. Slick for me too, I go about 240 lbs. Mine are hard plastic factory ones. Anybody have ideas?

Clean the surface REALLY well, and get some of the anti-slip tape they sell in home depot/lowes for concrete stairs.

Thanks for the idea, I was looking for something more permanent.
That would work though.

If the surface is properly prepped, that stuff is almost as permanent as non-slip paint, and a hell of a lot easier to apply.

Thanks all.
It is 7* today so I will have to wait for a few days to put the tape on.
She won't ride in it I have it on!
I will have to plug her in tonight while she sits outside in the wind while I am at work.
The line x is intriguing.

And you are correct, the bars are not that wide. I just think anything will make it safer for a passenger/me.

I put non-skid (marine) deck paint on my boat...works pretty good. Just an idea.

Got my truck detailed at Ziebart a few weeks ago and the idiots put armor-all all over the damn step bars. Didnt even think about it, when I went to pick it up I opened the door, stepped up and fell flat on my rear....dang I was mad!
