This thread has taken off, but I just wanted to say I have the same one as 2000MTZ. I almost got one from wheelskins, and I think I will when this one gets grungy, but $5 Big Lots deal... can't beat that. It matches perfectly too.

Thanks jtb, I'm gonna order one!

You should check out EBay. I bought one shipped for $30.00 all Wheelskins are drop shipped directly from Wheelskins. I had a defective cover and emailed Wheelskins even though I bought off EBay and they had my order, sent a new one without requiring me to return the defective one.

....just really take your time with the install. Remember that with a two-tone cover, you are going to want to make sure it's centered before you get going. Once it's tightened up, there's no moving it around.

Get your thread through the holes, then slowly work your way around the wheel, getting it tighter and tighter on each pass. When you are done, the edges will nearly touch eachother.

Also, specify the color thread you want.....they originally sent mine with the darker brown thread, but I asked them to send the tan thread instead and they did, free of charge.

My OE leather wheel was wearing pretty hard, and eventually broke through at the top of the wheel. Once the colour layer is worn off, it goes to just a dark, grainy leather (see pic below). Picked up a Sand/Perf Gray wrap from Wheelskins on ebay - install took a couple minutes over an hour, was really easy, and i'm pretty happy with the results. I pulled on the string EXTREMELY HARD when stitching, and had no issues with breaking at all. They sent me black string with the wrap - I emailed the ebay seller, and he sent me new gray thread free of charge - Great product!

I got one from Ebay too. The great thing is, it's cheaper than anywhere else and the seller I bought from just had it drop shipped from Wheelskins. I had a problem with the reinforcement part of the cover and I called Wheelskins, they sent me a new one without even requiring the defective one sent back. It's does take a long time, but looks great.

@ lariatboy and @ JTB sorry to bring up an old thread, but I love the way the wheelskins look on your trucks. I have the same color interior and was wondering if you both were happy with your color decisions and if you would do anything different? Also how are the lasting? Lariatboy, how do you like the perf? They both look so awesome I'm having a hard time making a desicion.

Still very happy with it, and wouldn't change a thing. As far as maintenance, from time-to-time I take a lighter and burn off some of the little frays that pop up from the threading.

Very happy with mine, and still get lots of compliments on it. Colour choice looks factory, and I'm glad I went with the gray perf and the gray thread for install. I use mcguires leather cleaner and conditioner on all my leather, steering wheel included - the dirt and oils from your skin will do a number on leather over time. Haven't had any fray problems with the thread - just be sure to haul hard on it during install!

You guys rock, thanks for the responses. I have the leather samples being shipped so I guess I'll make a decision once I get those in. @lariatboy my steering wheel looks exactly like your before pic, its about to drive me crazy. I was actually researching replacing the wheel when I came across this thread. It seems to be a much better solution, especially for the money.
