Steering rack

I had to change mine since the pump pressure line feeding into it was corroded away further up but the male end was stuck in the rack, relatively easy and did in my driveway on jack stands. I'd say 2 hours for the rack itself but you'll must likely need to change out the lines as well which will be 2 more hours if that. Don't mess up like I did and clamp that steering wheel down to make the eventual alignment that you'll need easier. Below is a step by step video from Snow Plow Life that I followed which helped immensely. Used a detriot axle rack with the lifetime warranty and its been working well thus far.

before you change the rack check the steering shaft. the u joints on them go bad and can cause a popping sound.i replaced my rack and steering pump to find out it was the steering shaft.
