I have a 2008 F150 Supercab 4x4. This is the second time this has happened. My truck was in the body shop for 3 weeks. After I picked it up I noticed that the steering is stiff.......it is harder to turn and won't return on its own. This happened several times before on the old steering rack ( the steering rack was replaced within the last year due to leakage).

Can anyone shed light on this?

 

U joints in the intermediate steering shaft are freezing up, common issue. Immediate fix is spray lube into the joints, longer term fix is replace the intermediate shaft.
