Default Starter intermittent failure

Starter was replaced. Was struggling to start or not working at all.
fast forward to today. Go to turn the key and nothing happens at all. I've checked all posts and terminals, battery is good, all grounds that I see are secure and I can jump the starter using a screwdriver.
My guess is relay or neutral safety switch. Thoughts? After I got where I was going, I shut the truck off and started it 3 consecutive times without issue

Also, doesn't seem to be anti theft related as the red dash light turns off

if it happens again try putting the trans in neutral.
The neutral safety switch is built into the trans range switch I think they call it. It does have some slight range of adjustment so if it starts in neutral it may just need adjustment. or I suppose it could be going bad.
Sounds like you're on the right track.

It's the range sensor/neutral switch. Went to start it up, nothing happened. Moved the gear selector all the way to 1 then back to P. Started up. So...trip to oreillys tonight.
