Default staright out the back or angled?

hey guys if everyhting goes right and i get my new truck i think ive decided on puttin a flowmaster 40 series on it and i was wodering which would sound better pipes straight out he back or pipes angles behind each tire??? i dont care much for the 90 degrees right behind the tire so i wont consider it a option, oh yea the truck will have a 4.6 L in it.

well I wanted mine to come straight out, but the way my hitch receiver system was installed I couldn't do that. So mine come out at a 45. I didn't like this look but its growing on me. The only bad part is the chrome tips look horrible cause my tires throw everything onto them.

The sound will not be different. The above gives you a good idea of how the 45 looks. I personally prefer straight out...I have the hitch as well...Im surprise your guy muffler guy said he couldnt do it...Mine said he could for 390 for flowmaster 40. ...490 for magnaflow (dont understand the 100 dollar difference....) Dont worry, your 4.6 will give it plenty of growel. You will be happy. I was impressed with how my 05 4.2 sounds. Cant wait to get it on my 08 5.4! Im gonna go magna...flowmaster is just to loud for me anymore lol

i prefer the looks of the straight out the back better. i've heard rumors that angled is louder due to it echoing off the pavement more but that is just rumors. not sure if theres any truth to that! I am extremely happy with the sound of my 5.4! Sounds mean

I dumped mine before the rear axle. I like the discrete look.

I did similar but not so discrete by having dual out in front of the rear right side tire just behind the step bar.

I love the angled look. I am gonna do magna and duals exiting just behind the right rear tire. As close as I can make it look to the 1st gen Harleys. I think straight out is just waaay too 90's. Sorry to anyone that has it. Also dumped under the truck is a HUGE health risk. Inhaling CO is not really my thing. Most states it will not pass inspection like that. But to each his own and there is an *** for every seat.

I have no muffler at all. It is very loud when you get on it. I only have 2 cats on it too. The highway sound isn't to bad but you can still here it rumblin.
